The fibers used in this fabric are naturally stain and fade resistant. Aggressive cleaners can be used on it, but there are important things to keep in mind.
- Wash by hand. A washing machine may break down any backing attached to the fabric.
- Start with a milder cleaner. Soap and water should be your first choice for cleaning, If it is a tougher stain a cleaner made specifically for upholstery will take out nearly any stain.
- If you are faced with a very difficult stain, and the stain is on fabric that can be removed from the furniture, as with a cushion, and there is no backing that can’t be removed. a bleach solution may be used. It is very important to rinse all the bleach out, with a stream of water. If there is bleach left in the fabric it can ruin clothing, irritate skin, or degrade padding or wood it comes in contact with.
- Allow fabric to air dry. Do not use a dryer. It also may break down any backing.
